Welcome to the AAUW Philadelphia Branch website!
Women university graduates in the Philadelphia area formed the Women’s University Club in 1886. The club affiliated with the American Association of University Women in 1935, becoming chartered and incorporated with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as Women’s University Club, Philadelphia Branch of the American Association of University Women. It changed its name again to Philadelphia Branch, Inc. AAUW in 2002.
On a national level, the AAUW has over 100,000 members in 1,300 branches and is made up of three areas: the Association, the Educational Foundation, and the Legal Advocacy Fund..
